At the end of the year, Eintracht Frankfurt is looking at a contract extension with an up-and-coming star of the current season.

Frankfurt – This season, Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké are particularly attracting attention at Eintracht Frankfurt. But apart from these two goalscorers, another player has come into the spotlight.

Contract extension for Eintracht Frankfurt's rising star

Nnamdi Collins made his breakthrough at Eintracht in November. The defensive specialist has already played eleven competitive games in the current season, started three times in a row in the Bundesliga last month and made three more starting eleven appearances in the Europa League.

According to information from fussball.news this rapid rise will be rewarded. Eintracht Frankfurt and Collins have agreed to extend the contract, which runs until 2028, for another two years. The shooting star will therefore remain under contract on the Main until 2030. Also pay TV channels Sky Sports reported.

SGE sports director Markus Krösche recognized Collins' rapid increase in value and wanted to consistently set the course and bind the young player to the club in the long term. In addition to the extension of the term, the salary was also adjusted and no exit clause was agreed.

Eintracht signs Collins from the BVB youth team

In 2016, Collins moved from Fortuna Düsseldorf to Borussia Dortmund's youth department and worked his way up to the second team. In the summer of 2023, Frankfurt secured his services for 700,000 euros, with BVB receiving no buy-back option and no resale participation.

Collins also initially gained experience as a secondary substitute at the SGE before making his Bundesliga debut against Werder Bremen on April 5, 2024. “Looking back, it was a very valuable time for me,” said the youngster in an interview fussball.news about his careful development in the youth sector. “I knew from day one at Eintracht what plans they had for me and what I was still missing.”

The extension of the contract underlines the mutual respect and trust that Eintracht has in Collins' potential.
