Update, 4:05 p.m.: So the draw is over again. There is a cracking game for both men and women. While the duel between 1. FC Cologne and Bayer Leverkusen is likely to have a derby character, the meeting between the women's teams from Frankfurter Eintracht and FC Bayern Munich will be a duel between two absolute top teams.

Update, 2:48 p.m.: There's just under an hour left before the draw begins in the German Football Museum in Dortmund. The German handball national player Julian Köster will play the lottery ticket.
First report from December 15th, 11:21 a.m.: Dortmund – The ranks have thinned. There are still eight teams left in the fight for the DFB Cup. The draw on Sunday afternoon, December 15th will show which of the clubs will meet in the quarter-finals (all information about the TV broadcast).
While the favorites Leipzig and Leverkusen can only smile wearily about the prospective bonuses for reaching the semi-finals due to the corporations behind them, for Bielefeld and Cologne part of the direction of the next few years depends on a possible quarter-final victory. The teams in the semi-finals will receive over 3.3 million euros.
Clarity for Bielefeld already before the Cup draw
Compared to the quarter-final pairings, there are hardly any. Only the last remaining third division team can look forward to a small advantage. No matter which team Arminia Bielefeld is drawn, the DSC is set as the home team.
For the Bielefeld team, who surprisingly defeated Bundesliga Freiburg 3-1 in the round of 16, the home advantage could be the key to the next sensation. Apart from 1. FC Cologne, there are only other Bundesliga teams in the draw.
Which team wins that one DFB Cup?
The quarter-final games of the DFB Cup will take place in two blocks. The first two parties will take place on February 4th and 5th, 2025. The last two semi-finalists will then be determined three weeks later, on February 25th and 26th. (sh)
