USA TODAY will release its first-ever lists of the best real estate agencies in Florida and Tennessee next month.
The Florida list includes the top 500 agencies and the Tennessee list highlights the top 300 performing firms.
Market research firm Statista, working with USA TODAY, used data from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) to evaluate agencies based on the following four key areas:
- Revenue: Total sales in 2023 and average sales over the last three years.
- Price-performance: Ratio of the final selling price to the original list price.
- Sales volume: Total number of properties sold annually and average number of sales per agent.
- Success rate: Percentage of successful sales versus failed listings and average time on market before sale.
Why Florida and Tennessee? They are among the top 10 states with the highest population growth in recent years. And they are home to some of the hottest real estate markets in the country. Florida's warm, sunny climate is a popular draw for tourists and locals alike. With its high quality of life and low cost of living, Tennessee has also become attractive to people leaving expensive cities.
Their popularity rose during the COVID-19 pandemic, which made it easier for people to live in a different state than their employer.
The winners of “Florida’s Best Real Estate Agencies 2024” and “Tennessee’s Best Real Estate Agencies 2024” will be notified by Statista on August 29 and announced in USA TODAY on September 26.
