Andrea Kleiner becomes Head of Corporate Customers at Baloise

Basel, December 16, 2024. Andrea Kleiner will be the new Head of Corporate Customers at Baloise in Switzerland on April 1, 2025 and will join the management team. She succeeds Patric Olivier Zbinden, who will head the customer performance department as a member of the management team as part of an internal change.

Andrea Kleiner brings extensive management experience and a broad track record in the insurance industry. After graduating in biochemistry from ETH Zurich, an MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca and a certificate in insurance management from the University of St. Gallen, she completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in Boston in 2024.

Andrea Kleiner began her career in management consulting at Accenture in 2000 and at the Boston Consulting Group from 2004 before moving to Swiss Life in 2008. There she played a key role in setting up process management and digitizing the private customer value chain.

Andrea Kleiner joined Mobiliar in 2016, where she held various key functions and made a significant contribution to increasing earnings and positioning the company in the non-life business. As head of personal insurance, she achieved sustainable increases in efficiency by introducing new portfolio management and modernizing the contract process.

She later became head of the private customer segment. In this role, she was responsible for the technical results of the private customer business, including the mobility, household and legal protection business areas. She also leads a strategic project to realign the corporate strategy.

As head of business development, Andrea Kleiner became a member of the Mobiliar management team in 2021. In this role, you drive forward key projects, including digital transformation and the further development of new business models. She was responsible for the group-wide analytics and AI strategy as well as group-wide innovation management, led important M&A transactions and led cross-divisional digitalization projects. With these initiatives, she had a decisive influence on the company's strategic development and competitiveness.

With the addition of Andrea Kleiner to the management board, Baloise is sending a strong signal for the consistent further development of its strategic goals, which we achieve as part of our Investor updates in September 2024 have announced. Andrea Kleiner's experience in business model transformation, digital innovation and process optimization will help drive the implementation of measures in our insurance business to ensure profitable growth, greater efficiency and a sustainable increase in gross premiums by 2027.
