Magdeburg: Police officers check e-scooter drivers – and promptly go home with them

Magdeburg – Early on Monday morning, police officers checked an e-scooter driver Magdeburg Center. Shortly afterwards she found herself in his apartment.

At around 1 a.m., a police patrol stopped the 28-year-old on Sternstrasse because he was apparently drunk and riding his scooter in the old town.

The police searched the driver for identification and finally found a stolen person who was wanted after being stolen from a car.

The emergency services promptly decided to search the e-scooter driver's apartment, the Magdeburg police station said.

In addition to stolen items, they also found several blank guns and air weapons as well as other drugs.

The 28-year-old then had to have a blood sample taken to prove that he was actually drunk or high on his scooter. An investigation was opened.
