Several bodies have been discovered at a ski resort in Georgia. Apparently a power generator was used to disrupt the employees of a restaurant.
The bodies of twelve people were found in Georgia: The lifeless bodies lay on the floor above a restaurant in the Gudauri ski resort in the north of the country.
The police assume it was a “tragic accident”. The victims were eleven foreigners and one local, officials said on Monday. According to initial investigations, they died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
No traces of violence were discovered on the bodies, the police said. The victims were found in the sleeping area on the second floor of an Indian restaurant.
According to media reports, they are employees of the restaurant. There was said to have been a power outage the previous evening. The restaurant employees then set up a power generator and switched it on. It was said that the toxic carbon monoxide could come from the generator.
A criminal investigation is ongoing. The reports are being investigated for negligent homicide.
Carbon monoxide is a powerful respiratory poison. It occurs when there is not enough oxygen available during combustion processes.

The result: the organs are no longer adequately supplied. Symptoms range from headaches, dizziness, nausea, confusion, vomiting, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias to unconsciousness, coma and death.
