Utilities once again have a foothold in the center of Kronshagen

Kronshagen. Lack of space and contemporary rooms is no longer a problem since the Kronshagen utilities (VBK) moved from their building behind the town hall to a new building on Claus-Sinjen-Straße in autumn 2023. However, due to the less central location, public traffic has decreased. Now the VBK are back in the center of town to provide advice.

According to VBK managing director Alexander Baumgärtner, customer contact has not dropped dramatically since the move to the municipal border of Mettenhof, but the popularity is “not as strong as at the old location”.

The company, which is 100 percent owned by the municipality, wants to counteract this with the newly opened consultation room in the row of shops at the Roter Brickhof. According to Baumgärtner, almost everything that is possible at the headquarters is possible there.

The only restriction: If a very technical issue comes up, it is easier to consult an expert straight away on Claus-Sinjen-Straße.

It's not just the Kronshagen utilities that are using new space

The approximately 45 square meter consultation room between the town hall and the bakery is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

However, the doors will also be open at other times in the future. The idea of ​​making the space available to other organizations from Kronshagen was met with widespread interest.

First, the senior citizens' advisory board announced the need, quickly followed by the children's and youth advisory board, and institutions such as the Altenholz care center, the social association, the workers' welfare association, the bridge's psychosocial counseling service, as well as the representative for people with disabilities and the Bordesholm debt counseling service also reported.

In fact, additional organizations will probably not be presented until the beginning of 2025, with the threads coming together with the community. Although the VBK has taken over the room as the sole tenant, occupancy is organized in the town hall.
