Mr. Wright, from “Diplomatic Relations” to “The Day of the Jackal” and “Black Doves” to your new series “The Agency,” the screens are teeming with stories from the secret service and espionage world these days. Do you think this boom is directly related to the global political situation?
This leaves me a little puzzled. But maybe there is something to it, because as a person who is very politically interested and who follows what is happening in the world closely, I immediately pricked up my ears, at least when I saw “The Agency”. I found it very exciting how specifically the characters in the scripts were located in geopolitical contexts. It didn't seem like an artificial film world to me, but actually like the reality that surrounds us all.
