WhatsApp is currently distributing an update for the messenger. It contains four improvements that are intended to enhance a feature that is often used, especially at Christmas time.

The messenger WhatsApp is no longer just used to send messages and pictures. The app is now also popular for video calls. Meta is expected to buy over two billion calls on WhatsApp every day and this is expected to increase even more over the upcoming holidays. The calling function is therefore the focus of a new WhatsApp update.
It includes four major improvements to Messenger. You can now make WhatsApp calls not only on your cell phone, but also on your PC if you use WhatsApp Desktop. Just like on cell phones, there is now a separate area for calls. Beforehand, you can only initiate this via the respective chat window. In the new calls tab you will now find all of the well-known cell phone features – such as the ability to create a call link.
Update brings higher resolution for video calls, more effects and more
If you start a call in a group chat after the update, the entire group will no longer be called automatically, but you can choose which members you want to call.
Additional effects are now also available to you in video calls. Grow dog ears or make it look like you're talking on the phone underwater. Furthermore, WhatsApp will have improved the quality of video calls across devices. Here the messenger now uses a higher resolution without evaluating exact details.
