Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi allegedly conspired to murder gym owner Nadir Shah while operating in Sabarmati Jail, sources revealed. Nadir Shah was shot dead outside his gym in Delhi's Kailash 1 area on September 12.
The details have emerged in the Delhi Police chargesheet filed in the Patiala House Court on December 12. Fourteen accused, including Lawrence Bishnoi, gangster Hashim Baba and Randeep Malik, were named in the chargesheet.
According to investigations, Lawrence Bishnoi made a video call from Sabarmati Jail to Hashim Baba, lodged in Tihar Jail. During interrogation, Hashim Baba told Delhi Police that Lawrence showed him two mobile phones via video call and ordered the killing of Nadir Shah. Lawrence tasked Hashim with organizing shooters for the job.
Randeep Malik, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi who operated from the United States, allegedly provided the weapons used in the murder.
A Delhi Police team also visited Sabarmati Jail to question Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the case.
Although the motive for the murder is not explicitly mentioned in the indictment, it suggests that the murder was the result of an ongoing rivalry between various gangs.
A month after Nadir Shah's murder, a sharpshooter identified as Madhur alias Ayaan, associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gangs, was arrested in Delhi after a dramatic encounter with the Delhi Police's Special Cell.
