When it comes to omurice, Kichi Kichi Omurice is probably the most famous omurice restaurant in the world. Now they're coming to Bangkok for a limited time – here's how to experience the food.

Omurice – omelette and rice – is as simple as it sounds, but like anything that simple, it's the hardest thing to get right. Extremely silky scrambled eggs are placed on rice (in this case, fried rice) and generously topped with demi-glace sauce. Many who have tried making an omurice at home know that each element is more difficult to prepare than it seems at first glance.

If there is a classic dish in the world of gastronomy that we love, there is already a Japanese man who has spent his entire life perfecting it. Chef Motokichi “Kichi Kichi” Yukimura has turned his omurice dish into an internet sensation. With his lively demeanor and humble way of presenting himself, his Tokyo restaurant has become a destination, so much so that reservations are only accepted on the same day of arrival.
