Manufacturers of smartphones and tablets regularly deliver updates for their devices that do not serve to introduce new features but rather to improve device security. Now Samsung is rolling out the latest update of this kind. And once you receive your phone, you should install it immediately.
As the fan blog SamMobile reports, the security update for December 2024 contains fixes for one critical and several high-risk vulnerabilities in the Android operating system. Eight additional vulnerabilities that only affect Samsung's Galaxy tablets and cell phones are also expected to be fixed by the update. Overall, the security holes allow unauthorized system changes, access to sensitive data and the circumvention of general security mechanisms on your cell phone.

According to the fan blog Sammyfans, the update for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series initially only appears to be available in the USA or Korea – depending on the model. However, it is expected to be distributed in other regions within the next few weeks.
