1992: Spanish Serial Killer Hunt on Netflix

In 1992, the widow Amparo (Marian Alvárez) begins her own investigation after her husband dies in a mysterious explosion. She receives support from former police officer Richi (Fernando Valdivielso) with an alcohol problem. Together they find out that a serial killer is on the loose Connection to the 1992 World's Fair in Seville and leaves dolls of the mascot Curro at the crime scene.

Series creator Jorge Guerricaechevarría and director Álex de la Iglesia are behind the Netflix format not based on true events. The only connection to reality is this Expo 92 which actually took place in Spain at the time with the Curro mascot. But there was no serial killer at work back then.
