Saarlouis – (Image gallery at the end of the article) On the night of Tuesday, December 17, 2024, there was a spectacular traffic accident at around 2:40 a.m. at the Saarlouis motorway triangle, where the A8 and A620 meet. A 27-year-old man from the St. Wendel district lost control of his white Range Rover Evoque presumably due to inadequate speed.

The vehicle left the road, overturned and ended up on an embankment. In addition to the driver, two other people noticed each other in the car. Fortunately, all occupants remained uninjured. However, one person suffered shock and had to be cared for on site. The rescue workers were quickly on the scene to secure the scene of the accident and care for those affected.

The Saarlouis motorway triangle is increasingly becoming an accident hotspot. Over the course of the year, rescue workers have had to respond to traffic accidents in this area several times, some of them serious. Experts attribute the increase in accidents to excessive speed.

The police have started investigating the exact cause of the accident. The vehicle was a total loss and recovery took several hours. Subscribe to the Blue Light Report Saarland WhatsApp channel NOW and ALWAYS stay up to date directly (click here)
