The Tinder trends of 2024 – and what you can learn from them

These were the Tinder trends of 2024

Tinder and me – I can’t really tell you whether it’s a match made in heaven or a toxic situation. What I do know is that I love the app's flirt trend recaps. They're always pretty brought to the pointSpotify Wrapped can take a leaf out of this. Today, let's take a look at what Tinder has to offer when it comes to finding a partner, what was popular in 2024, whether you occasionally recognize yourself in it or whether you are inspired by one term or another. In the second part, we also take a look at the dating trend prediction for 2025! (Also read: These are the signs that tell you that your relationship can no longer be saved)

Tinder Trend #1: Alpha Femme

Gone are the days of passive mice waiting for HE to make the first move. Die Alpha female takes the initiative yourself. Perfect for all men who don't know exactly what to write in their first message to their match… and of course for all those who like women who know what they want.

Tinder Trend #2: Bed Chemistry

What is meant is not bad chemistry, but extremely good chemistry – but this is especially true in bed and not necessarily outside the bedroom. And why not? You just have to set priorities!

Tinder Trend #3: Cherry Bombing

From the (not at all) good old one Love bombing You've probably heard it before. What this means is that at the beginning of the flirtation, at least one of the others regularly bombards the other with romantic actions and premature vows of love and thus binds them to themselves. At the Cherry bombing Instead, it's about small, loving gestures that don't suggest that you've found your forever person. But they are supposed to entertain and show others that you are thinking about them. If the woman of your dreams tells you on the first date that she is addicted to pumpkin spice lattes during the cold season, you could stop by Starbucks before the second meeting and bring her her favorite drink. Tinder trend #4: Contra dating

Do you usually like delicate blondes with long legs and a reserved nature, but haven't been able to land a long-term match yet? Then give it a try Contra dating. In doing so, you also give a chance to those who normally don't fit your type at all. Who knows, maybe the little brunette with the beautiful face and the infectious laugh is the woman of your life.

Tinder Trend #5: D-AI-ting

Your best wingman? ChatGPT! Or so. In a survey, 68 percent of Tinder singles surveyed said that an AI function to support photo selection was a real wish. What else could AI be helpful for? When creating an interesting self-disclosure, writing the first flirty message or to practice online conversations and thus strengthen your own self-confidence. Tinder Trend #6: Dry Dating

Honestly, how many times have you gone on dates that ended up in bed with your match? And that even though the other person wasn't your thing at all? Phew…thank gin and tonic. Dry dating It's a real game changer, in my opinion. Get to know the other person with a clear head and find out whether there is a real connection? Perfect if you are interested in a long-lasting relationship.

So never have a glass of wine on a date again? Oh, it was. But you can still toast and enjoy a little tipsy together on the third and fourth date.

Just reserve alcoholic drinks for the more relaxed hook-up phases in life.

Tinder Trend #7: Flickering

Flicker (German flickering) describes the phase in which the enthusiasm for your flirt gradually weakens, but you don't want to give up the romance yet. At least there was something special… maybe the sex was incredibly animalistic or the woman lying next to you is the most beautiful you have ever dated.
