According to police, the 16-year-old got into an argument with a 15-year-old at the ice rink around 7:30 p.m.
The initially verbal argument quickly became physical: the 15-year-old brought her opponent down on the ice rink and kicked her in the head with her ice skate.
Three other young people then rushed over to help their friend who was being attacked. The girls between the ages of 14 and 17 then hit the 15-year-old skater again.

The emergency services took the 16-year-old, accompanied by her mother, to a clinic with suspected traumatic brain injury, where she was treated as an outpatient.
The 15-year-old was treated by paramedics on site with pain in her head and neck area and then taken into the care of her carer.
The 16-year-old's friends were also handed over to their parents. A specialist commissioner has taken over further investigations into dangerous bodily harm.
