What should you do in the event of a car accident?
If you are ever involved in a car accident, here's what you should do.
The driver of a vehicle was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Thousand Oaks on Monday afternoon.
The accident was reported just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Olsen Road and Hardy Lane. It also involved the northbound exit ramp from Highway 23, said Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Robert Yoos. The California Highway Patrol helped manage traffic caused by the exit ramp closure, he said.
Yoos said initial reports indicated that a car traveling at a high rate of speed struck a second vehicle that had entered the median. Meanwhile, the first vehicle left the road and struck a tree. The driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The accident closed parts of Olsen Road for several hours, Yoos said. Traffic investigators were expected to remain on scene until about 8:45 p.m.
