Slowthai declared innocent in rape trial

Slowthai (29) is innocent! The British rapper was confronted with serious allegations: He was accused of alleged double rape and most recently had to answer in court. Like, among other things BBC reports, the 29-year-old has now been found not guilty on three counts of rape – as has his friend Alex Blake-Walker, who was also charged. According to the news station, the jury in the trial had to deliberate for a full ten hours before they agreed on the verdict. Slowthai Burst into tears during the announcement.

During the trial, a group of women claimed that Slowthai and Alex were invited to a house party after a concert in Oxford in September 2021. According to the prosecutor, Alex raped a woman during the party – afterwards Slowthai allegedly encouraged him to do so. A second woman is then said to be raped. During the trial, Anne-Marie's (33) husband is said to have insisted on the sexual acts. However, this would have happened on a consensual basis. “I know she agreed, there’s no question about that.”claimed Slowthai loud BBC.

Slowthaiwho has received multiple awards for his music and was even nominated for a Grammy in 2021, was under great pressure not only professionally but also privately as a result of the process. An earlier statement he shared on social media said: “I am innocent and I believe the truth will prevail.” His fans asked not to make any assumptions during the difficult phase and to respect his family's privacy.
