Berlin (dpa) – Russian Kremlin critic Vladimir Kara-Mursa has confirmed that his mother is in Berlin Charité is treated. The police had previously announced that they were investigating the case of a German-Russian woman on suspicion of attempted murder. The woman expressed suspicion that she had been poisoned. According to police at X, she was taken to the isolation ward at the Berlin Charité. A police spokeswoman said the woman complained of nausea and called an ambulance. According to the information on X, they told doctors that they suspected they had been poisoned.
«Blood tests for all types of toxic substances are being carried out. “All necessary police measures to maintain public safety, but also to identify potential suspects, are underway,” the police said. The police did not say who the woman was.
Kara-Mursa is one of the most prominent Russian opposition figures. He was sentenced to 25 years in a camp there in April 2023 on charges of high treason, but was released in August of this year during a prisoner exchange between Russia and the West and flown out of Russia. The now 42-year-old has already survived two poison attacks.
