Football live on free TV: What’s on ARD, ZDF and Co.?
There are a few ways to watch football live on German free TV. ARD and ZDF occasionally show selected parties from the DFB Cup as well as international matches of the German men's and women's national teams. During major tournaments such as the World Cup and European Championships, these channels are also a contact point for fans to watch all the German national teams' games free of charge. The final of the UEFA Champions League was also shown on free TV by ZDF. Sat.1 offers three Bundesliga games live per season, including the opening game, the last game of the first half of the season and the first game of the second half of the season. On RTL, however, you can watch one game per match day from the Europa League or the Conference League. In addition, games of the German national team are also included in the RTL program.
