Last night the “Superblitzer” on Blankenauer Strasse in Chemnitz was covered up.

Apparently an unknown person is tampering with the radar device with adhesive tape.

Lucky for the drivers: The speed camera is therefore out of action for the time being and cannot take expensive photos.

However, if the perpetrator is caught, it could be expensive for them. According to the catalog of fines, manipulating, damaging or even covering the camera is a criminal offense.

According to the catalog of fines, such a penalty can also be imposed if the device is not permanently unusable after damage. What matters is whether the speed camera can continue to do its intended job. This would no longer be the case with a covert camera.
