SIBU: After three days on the run, a suspect involved in the murder of a foreign worker at an oil palm plantation in Mukah district was arrested on Tuesday evening (December 17).
OCPD Mukah Deputy Commander Muhamad Rizal Alias confirmed that the foreign suspect in his 30s was arrested about 5 km from the crime scene at 4:15 p.m.
“The arrest was made by a team from Mukah District Police Headquarters who were conducting 'Op Kesan' in the oil palm plantation area. The suspect attempted to escape when confronted by police,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (December 18). ).
Weapons and clothing used by the suspect in the incident were confiscated, and a urine test revealed the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
In the incident on December 15, the victim, an Indonesian national, succumbed to severe neck and abdominal injuries caused by a cut with a sharp object. – Bernama
