According to TheWrap, an article titled “Steve Harvey Passed Away Today: Remembering the Legacy of a Comedy Legend” was published Trend Cast News on Tuesday, December 17, and later aggregated on Newsbreak. The article had a future publication date of December 19, 2024.
It is now suspected that the article is due to an AI error. Us weekly has reached out to Harvey's rep for comment.
Harvey, 67, has not publicly addressed the hoax, but was active on his official Facebook and Instagram accounts throughout Wednesday, December 18.
