Asunción: Statistics often only tell the truth in numbers, but subjective feelings, especially with regard to the insecurity in the country, are often perceived differently.
The website Hosteltur recently published a list of the five safest cities to travel in Latin America and knows that: Asunción is among them.
As expected, Montevideo (Uruguay) tops the list, followed by Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile), Asunción (Paraguay) and finally Panama City (Panama). On the website they state that the classification is based on indicators such as the impact of terrorism, violent crime and political stability.
“The capital of Paraguay is characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and a lower tourist density. Places like the Palacio de los López and the Costanera in Asunción offer excellent cultural and leisure experiences. “The city is considered safe, but holidaymakers are advised to check the area they want to visit on the Ministry of Tourism website beforehand,” says Hosteltur’s website.
