As 9News reports, 33-year-old Marissa Gee went on a hike in the Blue Mountains to enjoy nature and sleep in a tent at a nearby campground.
But the adventure took an unexpected turn: Marissa got lost and was declared missing on December 13th – there is no trace of the woman.
Blue Mountains police were immediately informed and began an intensive search for her.

Her vehicle was found, but there were no signs of her life for days. Despite her extensive experience as a hiker, it was completely out of character for Marissa not to volunteer.
Given the extreme heat in the region, concerns are growing among both the authorities and her family.

For six days, the 33-year-old was out and about in the impassable forest area, without contact with the outside world.
But rescue finally came: on Thursday around 2:30 p.m. (local time) a helicopter crew from the Rural Fire Service discovered the missing hiker and brought her to safety.
Luckily, Marissa only had abrasions and was slightly dehydrated when she was taken to the hospital. Her survival skills had helped her in the wilderness – she was able to find sources of water and survive the days in the forest.

The Australian was overjoyed and full of gratitude towards her rescuers who had freed her from this hopeless situation.
