You – Season 5: This is what those responsible say about the last Netflix season

Showrunner Sera Gamble (39) is already spinning her initial ideas for a sequel to “You” and revealed to “The Hollywood Reporter”: “We have an idea for the fifth season that we are excited about. […] We're not trying to sell “Joe” as some sort of hero without making a face. The series is in the tradition of these series with only one main character who does increasingly bad things. The beauty of it is that when his story is over, the series is over.”

Also exciting:

And the showrunner goes on to say: “How will 'Joe Goldberg' go down in a world where he's been branding people with bricks in broad daylight for years – and he's getting away scot-free.” The deeper question we often ask ourselves is: What is true justice? What would hurt him the most?” she asks the question of all questions. Will Joe end up being caught and imprisoned, killed or otherwise punished?” Will she let him die a serial death or will he otherwise get his just punishment? Of course, that is still unclear. But actor Penn Badgley also made no secret of the fact that he wanted a very specific series death for Joe:

The statements already indicated that “You” would be coming to an end relatively soon. The fact that it ends after season 5 will still be disappointing for many fans.

You – Season 5: Contents | What could happen next season?

Here's a precautionary warning: Spoilers for the ending of “You” – Season 4 – Part 1 & Part 2 follow

Part 2 of “You” – Season 4 in particular completely turned a lot of what viewers saw in the first five episodes of Season 4 on its head. Because we sold Rhys as an “Eat the Rich” killer who wanted to get Joe into shit and ended up running as a mayoral candidate in London.

But then came You – Season 4 Part 2 and everything was turned completely upside down: Because the murderous Rhys is actually just a figment of Joe's psyche, which he quickly wants to violently erase in the final episode of season 4 – with his own death. Previously, Joe, among others, murdered the real “Rhys” and Tom Lockwood and tried to cover his tracks as best as possible. Although this time it seems as if there is no way out for Joe, Kate comes to his aid: Through her power and influence, they were able to cover up Rhys' obvious murder and, after his confessions, gave Joe a “new life” in New York City.

What happens next with Kate and Joe in NYC is of course the central plot of the 5th season of “You”. However, the whole thing gets a special spice from Marianne: What Joe doesn't know is that his ex is still alive thanks to the help of Nadja. At the end of the current season she happens to read a report about Joe and Kate. Will she finally be forced to account by the final avenging angel and Joe in season 5? That seems like a pretty realistic scenario for a final season of You.

You Season 5: First teaser suggested several returns!

A first teaser for “You” – Season 5 was released at the big Netflix TUDUM event in Brazil. It also becomes clear that Joe has left a lot of loose ends in his past or has to clear them up. This not only includes essential information, but also people who could trip him up in the final season, such as Nicky (John Stamos), Sherry (Shalita Grant), Paco (Luca Padovan), Cary (Travis Van Winkle). ) or Lady Phoebe (Tilly Keeper). What else have we learned about Joe or who will return (at least for a flashback) we may find out before the start of “You” – Season 5.
