Free, fast and uncomplicated: This is how registering for the Wero payment service should work. Banks that provide assistance in the event of problems.

Wero: Have you ever heard of it but haven't used it yet? The new European payment service will overtake the American PayPal in the future. In Germany, customers of the savings banks, Volks- and Raiffeisenbanken and Postbank have so far been able to use the offer.

To do this, customers of savings banks and cooperative banks access their bank's trusted banking app and register for Wero there. As a rule, approval via the usual TAN procedure is required. Registering for the service is free, as is subsequent use.

To use it, Postbank customers must download another app – “Wero with Postbank”. Anyone interested must register there by selecting their postal bank – here too, registration and use are free of charge.

David Riechmann from the NRW consumer advice center recommends that you always find out in advance from the bank or savings bank's homepage how to correctly activate and use the payment service. If there are problems with registration, those affected can contact their respective bank. Only Postbank customers directly use the Wero support that is offered to them in the app.
