“Charlotte Link – The Search” on TV: That’s what “Part 2” is about
Two-part feature film Germany 2021 14-year-old Amelie (Charlotte Lorenzen) is back with her family. However, since her disappearance and rescue by Alex Barnes (Nikola Trifunovic), the teenager seems to have changed. Amelie disappears again during a trip to the high moor. Detective Chief Inspector Caleb Hale (Lucas Gregorowicz) is now under even more pressure: not only is he groping in the dark in the search for the “raised moor killer” and a missing person, but now he loses the only witness despite personal protection! Caleb immediately starts a search for Amelie's shady “rescuer” Alex, who extorted a reward from her parents (Milena Dreissig, Alexander Perkins) and has been in hiding ever since. The chief investigator experiences a painful surprise when he visits a suspect: the boat tour operator Chapland (Ben Braun) is having an affair with Kate Linville (Henny Reents)! The Scotland Yard officer no longer shows any consideration for her ex-lovers and their responsibility for the case. However, she cannot use her Scotland Yard badge here. Born a journalist, Kate stumbles upon another kidnapping case. However, to save runaway Mandy (Amy Lally), who is trapped in a lonely country house, Kate must risk her own life. In the second part of the Charlotte Link film adaptation, “The Search” takes a surprising turn: The series of mysterious criminal cases involving missing teenage girls no longer only asks the investigators who is behind it – but also whether all the incidents have anything to do with each other. The brilliantly filmed psychological thriller combines the exciting storylines with the perspectives of the two investigator characters. The special relationship between Scotland Yard officer Kate and the local chief inspector Caleb Hale, impressively played by Henny Reents and Lucas Gregorowicz, is illustrated in the title song “Scarbourough Fair”.
