There are numerous stars who have made it onto the cover of Playboy. Now a pop legend is telling about a particularly offensive offer that the glossy magazine risked.
Nohfelden-Neunkirchen – Some feel honored, others gratefully decline. The erotic magazine Playboy always manages to do nude shoots of pop singers. Pop star Michelle (52) has made it onto the cover twice in the past. This year, Anna-Carina Woitschack (32) dared to appear naked in front of the lens. Now another icon of the pop world made a shocking revelation. Because when she was asked, she was not yet of age.
Schlager icon Nicole reveals: She was asked by Playboy when she was 17
Singer Nicole (60) has also been asked by Playboy twice in her life for a nude shoot, as she did in the podcast But please with hits now revealed. “The first was right after the Grand Prix victory,” revealed the now 60-year-old, who sang her way into the hearts of an audience of millions at the 1982 “Eurovision Song Contest” with the song “A Little Peace.” What was particularly sensitive about the request was that Nicole was only 17 years old at the time.
Her then music producer Ralph Siegel (79) had therefore kept the slippery offer secret from the singer. The matter only came to light when Nicole received another inquiry from the men's magazine ten years ago and reported this to Ralph Siegel. “When I said to him, 'Imagine, for my 50th, Playboy called and wanted to do a photo shoot.' Then he said: 'Oh, then it's the second request!', the pop musician recalled the conversation.
This is how Schlager star Nicole reacted to the second Playboy request
However, with the second request, Nicole was clear that she didn't want to undress in front of the camera. “I then politely declined and said, ‘Better send me 50 red roses,’” the singer reports with a laugh in the podcast.
Nicole still thinks about what her life would have been like if she had chosen a different song at the ESC in 1982. In fact, another song called “Only a Song” was in the running in the preselection. It was only shortly before the then 17-year-old decided against it. “My gut said yes to 'A little peace',” she remembers in an interview with the Saarbrücker Zeitung. “I can't say why. I just knew.”
Just a few years ago, the ESC winner was battling breast cancer. A life-changing experience that gave pop star Nicole a new outlook on life. Sources used: Podcast “But please with Schlager” (episode 266) from December 16, 2024, saarbruecker-zeitung.de, playboy.de
