As True Crime News reported, the frightening case happened in November 2023 when Edleigha Little (40) and Pedro Simental (45) got into an argument. Little is said to have torn her boyfriend's football jersey.
Simental then grabbed a can of beans and hit the 40-year-old in the head with such force that she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died shortly afterwards.

In court, the jury ultimately faced a challenge.
Since Little was drunk at the time of the attack and was considered an alcoholic, it was questioned whether her already poor health could have been to blame for her developing the hematoma.
Simental itself should not feel responsible for the 40-year-old's death. And that despite the fact that he had attacked her with the can himself.
During the trial, Little's niece, among others, appeared on the witness stand and described her aunt as a “caring and considerate person” who had been repeatedly mistreated by Simental.
She therefore asked the judge for a long prison sentence in the hope that “no other woman and her family” would have to experience such a fate again.
