According to the company, the world's largest fan exhibition of the Star Wars saga can be seen in Frankfurt from December 20th. Titled “The Fans Strike Back,” it will feature more than 700 unique and nostalgic fan collectibles, including life-size figures, replica spaceships, photos, posters and costumes.

Ice Holy Night in Giessen

Subway To Sally are the headliners of the Ice Holy Night in Giessen.

Rock, metal and folk will be heard in Giessen's Hessenhalle on December 21st, when the indoor festival “Ice Holy Night” comes to town. Since 2009, the year-end spectacle has attracted music lovers from the folk and medieval rock scene, and Giessen is an integral part of the tour program. This year the bands Subway To Sally, The O'Reillys And The Paddyhats and Harpyie will be on stage.

Dialects in the Bad Hersfeld word realm

The interactive special exhibition “I don't understand you, you have to speak a little louder | chatter | babble | schnuddeln – (language) diversity through dialects” takes a close look at dialects. Everyone is invited to explore the diversity of regional language variants and discover how dialects enrich our culture, identity and communication. Entrance to the exhibition is included in the regular ticket price.

Movable jointed puppets, small pull-along animals, ox carts and equestrian figures already existed in ancient times. From the 19th century onwards, mobile toys became more and more complex, and with the triumph of trains and cars, they also conquered children's rooms on a small scale. Many of these mobile toys can be viewed in the exhibition “Movement in the Children's Room” in the Hanau Doll and Toy Museum until December 31st.

Twelve museums under one roof in Fulda

Fulda has a diverse and lively museum landscape and is showing this for the first time in a joint presentation “Under one roof” in the Karl concept department store. In twelve rooms, visitors can immerse themselves in the exciting culture, history and nature of the city and the Fulda region. There are interesting facts to discover, from fire services, the environment and art to crafts and astronomy. Entry is free.

This exhibition is also interesting for non-smokers. The Tobacco Museum in Lorsch (Bergstrasse) presents the special exhibition “The cigarette – a journey through time; A global triumph goes up in smoke.” Among other things, 3,500 cigarette packs from the period between 1890 and 2015 are on display. It also sheds light on the development of cigarette culture from the 17th century to the present.

Clean river floodplains in the Guntershausen Environmental Center

The environmental education center at Kühkopf in Stockstadt (Groß-Gerau) deals with the topic of illegal waste disposal in the Rhine floodplains in a bizarre exhibition. The works of art shown were all created from garbage that was collected on the Old Rhine island of Kühkopf during the upcoming “Rhine Cleanup Days”. Visitors also learned how long the rotting process of to-go cups, chip bags or plastic bottles takes.

Frozen and Harry Potter in Kassel

Frozen Elsa is coming to Kassel on January 6th.

Kassel is looking forward to two world stars: at the beginning of January, Ice Queen Elsa and sorcerer's apprentice Harry Potter will enchant the audience in the congress hall. The music show “Frozen 1 & 2” naturally takes place on the ice. At “The Music of Harry Potter – Live in Concert,” an orchestra plays the musical highlights of the Harry Potter films and the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
