Feature update
On the occasion of the coming New Year, WhatsApp is introducing three new features. These are available from now until January 3, 2025.
Every year we wish our loved ones not only a Merry Christmas, but also a Happy New Year. Nowadays greetings are often sent via WhatsApp. To mark this occasion, WhatsApp announced not only a Christmas update a few days ago, but now also a New Year's update, which is intended to make this year's New Year's wishes even more special.
The focus is on three new features that are intended to create a festive atmosphere. Video calls in particular are given a festive upgrade with new AR effects and special backgrounds. Anyone who prefers to send messages can look forward to a little surprise: As soon as a message with the emojis 🎊🥳🎉🍾🥂 is responded to, a cheerful confetti animation appears, which is intended to put a smile on the faces of both the sender and the recipient.
There are also new stickers; Everyone should find something suitable here – whether it's a happy greeting or a heartfelt message, i.e. WhatsApp. No further details about the stickers have been revealed yet.
The New Year's features are available from now until January 3, 2025, after which they will be removed from the app.
