There's a trend on social media that's making the rounds in loving parenting that involves a slight role reversal. Some adults lay their heads in their babies' laps to see how the children react. Usually, the results are just too beautiful for words! One mother captured a particularly beautiful moment with her little one while filming her video.
In the sweet clip, the woman and her baby were sitting on the floor as she gently laid her head on the child's lap. The little girl seemed delighted by the whole thing and immediately beamed with the biggest smile ever! She then started playing with her mother's face, patting it with her hands as if it was a drum. The mother looked genuinely happy during this beautiful moment of bonding with her daughter, even though she did flinch a few times.
This video has been viewed over 19 million times! Commenters couldn't believe how cute this little girl was. Some found it quite funny to see the baby lovingly slapping her mother's face while the woman's head was resting on her lap.
“This is the cutest, happiest baby I have ever seen,” wrote one user.
Another joked: “I love how… intense baby affection can be.”
Of course, not every parent who has tried to put their head in their baby's lap has received the reaction they hoped for. While there are many heartwarming videos as part of this trend, some adults have failed!
In a hilarious clip, a mother wanted to capture a sweet moment with her daughter. However, the little girl wouldn't sit still long enough for the woman to put her head in the child's lap. At one point, the toddler started painfully pulling on her mother's hair!
After several failed attempts, the mother was finally able to put her head on her baby's lap… for a few seconds. Almost immediately, the child began to push the woman away. Then it wriggled out from under its mother's head and crawled right over her face to free itself!
If this social media trend teaches us anything, it's that every child expresses affection in their own unique way. And some babies are more clingy than others!
