German “NCIS: Sydney” fans will probably have to be patient

The team of NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey (Olivia Swann) and Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey (Todd Lasance) face a powerful enemy. Because as was already hinted at in the first season finale, the investigation surrounding Colonel Rankin (Lewis Fitz-Gerald) will reveal chaos that could threaten stability in the region.

In the season premiere Heart Starter, a killer is on the run and the NCIS/AFP team does everything they can to solve the case, “even if it means waking the dead.” Whatever that means.

“NCIS: Sydney”: Successful broadcast on US television

In the USA, the series was able to reach 6.6 million viewers when broadcast linearly on CBS (Live + 7 playback) and was the second most popular format after “60 Minutes” in the strike-plagued fall season of 2023 and on a par with the long-running reality hit “Survivor “. Things also did well among series in 2023-24, as it was the third most successful new drama after Tracker (2024) (10.8 million) and Elsbeth (7.4 million).
