At the Christmas market in Magdeburg a driver drove into a group of people. He was arrested, they learned German press agency in the evening from government circles Saxony-Anhalt to find out. There was initially no word on anyone dead or injured.

In response to the attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market, the city marketing company Lukom will cancel its weekend program at the end of the Ludwigshafen Christmas market. The management of Lukom announced this in the evening. The program also included a large fireworks display. The Ludwigshafen Christmas market has been running since November 13th, making it one of the first Christmas markets to open in Germany in 2024.
