Markus Söder becomes a football commentator – this is how the fans react
The Franconian, who was born in Nuremberg, is a fan of the “Clubberer” and makes no secret of it.
Now Markus Söder – who has just caused a nasty exchange on TV – is celebrating his debut as a co-commentator. Recently he probably didn't like what his favorite club was doing in the 2nd Bundesliga. Coach Miroslav Klose's team has been winless for six games and lost 3-1 at 1. FC Köln last weekend.
How do the Braunschweig fans accept that a biased football fan comments on their game? The first reactions – across all teams, by the way – are consistently negative.
“There is no better argument. Everyone in the stadium!” writes a Nuremberg supporter who would also prefer to forego the TV broadcast. “Already an election campaign on sports broadcasts?” asks an X-user. And a Hanover fan teases their local rivals: “Braunschweig gets what it deserves.” In addition to Sport1, Sky is also broadcasting the game.
