This development can also be seen in the fashion world, particularly in the numerous “cores” that have emerged on social media – from “Mob Wife” and “Quiet Luxury” to “Gorpcore”. Some see this as an acceleration of the trend cycle; Other considerations are an opportunity to approach mode in a less prescriptive and more interpretive way. “A vibe has a mystique that a trend lacks because it's more than just visual,” explains Cartner-Morley.

My take on the many viral TikTok aesthetics is more in line with this second approach – after all, one could argue that these new “vibe” videos are just a digitized version of old-fashioned scrapbooks and mood boards. It was with this mindset that I approached the 2025 fashion trends – or rather, the “vibes”.

In fact, there was no shortage of inspiration on the new season catwalks for dresses with an eclectic mix of moods that can be individually interpreted and adapted to one's personal style (and pre-existing wardrobe).
