How do you conjure up the beautiful Christmas atmosphere? Brigitte Weber has some advice. She surrounds herself with Christmas flair twelve months of the year. In her shop in Bad Hindelang she offers pretty much everything for the festival – from January to December. Weber says: “I am convinced that the contemplative time in the current difficult political situation represents a challenge for everyone.” These effects cannot simply be switched off at the push of a button when I get a beautiful Christmas tree in my living room.” And above all According to Weber, everyone needs their own unique ingredients for Christmas happiness.
Christmas spirit through five different senses
She approaches the Christmas spirit in steps: “Let’s try to respond to the five most different feelings of every person.” The visual person, who perceives the world with his eyes, needs Christmas pictures to get into the mood. For example: a wonderful Christmas tree. Weber's tip: “The tree should be perfectly grown for visual needs.” It should have 36 balls in different sizes and in the same color. As well as another 36 Christmas accessories tone on tone on the tree.” The Christmas tree top of feelings can be reached when the Christmas room is decorated in the same colors. A uniform magic, with warm candlelight.
The auditory person needs to be in harmony with himself at Christmas. “It needs a sprinkling of wonderful Christmas stories or songs.” Whether classical, Alpine, pop, the spectrum is wide. And sometimes the sound of fine glasses is enough. The bell hall of the church tower. The crackling of the fire in the fireplace. On the other hand, if you seek pleasure through smelling and tasting, you need the smell of Christmas – from cookies, roast goose or punch.
Weber explains the next type: “The kinaesthete has to feel everything.” At Christmas he needs a feeling of security, comfortable clothing, something to cuddle and lean on. “A kinesthete will never feel comfortable in a suit or a tuxedo with both feet in life and will only be enchanted by things that he can feel directly on his body.” Which leads from the feeling on the skin to the feeling of the next love: “The Helping person.” Weber's tip for these people: Visit someone in their retirement home at Christmas, bring a small gift and give them time and affection.
Important: Don't let Christmas stress arise
Weber is convinced: “Every person who knows their feelings and needs will have a happy Christmas, even in difficult times.” In order to enjoy the holiday, you should know yourself and act according to your own desires. “Christmas stress is the killer of all peaceful Christmas days.” Weber’s tip: Be done with all the gift shopping, house cleaning and preparations on Friday. Planning on Saturday: How do I dress for the party? Pre-cook the food and have the table in the Christmas room already set. “Decorate the Christmas tree and let your thoughts and feelings calm down two days before Christmas.” And then, on Christmas Eve? “Have no expectations. Be happy when the other person is.” (AZ)
