Dress trends 2025: These are the 7 most beautiful models that are worth an investment.
In a recent article in The Guardian, journalist Jess Cartner-Morley describes the social and cultural shift we have witnessed in the last year: away from hard facts towards a “vibes-based” approach. This development can also be seen in the fashion world, particularly in the numerous “cores” that have emerged on social media – from “Mob Wife” and “Quiet Luxury” to “Gorpcore”. Some see this as an acceleration of the trend cycle; Other considerations are an opportunity to approach mode in a less prescriptive and more interpretive way. “A vibe has a mystique that a trend lacks because it's more than just visual,” explains Cartner-Morley.
Which dresses will be trendy in 2025?
My take on the many viral TikTok aesthetics is more in line with this second approach – after all, one could argue that these new “vibe” videos are just a digitized version of old-fashioned scrapbooks and mood boards. It was with this mindset that I approached the 2025 fashion trends – or rather, the “vibes”.
In fact, there was no shortage of inspiration on the new season catwalks for dresses with an eclectic mix of moods that can be individually interpreted and adapted to one's personal style (and pre-existing wardrobe). For 2025, we've moved across timescales: from the sculptural dresses at Tod's and Ottolinger that evoke the draping of Renaissance sculptures, to the early 2000s “Bend It Like Beckham” styles at GCDS and Sia Arnica were seen (Tip: If you don't want to buy anything new, you can wear an oversized vintage track jacket to get the same look create).
