CoD Black Ops 6 has problems with cheaters

There are still some cheaters spoiling the fun in Black Ops 6's ranked mode.

At the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 everything was still good. At least there were no complaints about cheaters, although this changed slightly with the launch of Season 1 and the introduction of Ranked Play.

This playlist in particular is plagued by annoying cheaters who use wall hacks and aimbots, among other things. This is strange in that the Call of Duty developers actually have a dedicated team that is supposed to rule out these cheater problems as much as possible under the umbrella term “Ricochet”.

“Goal not achieved” – Season 1 was the sticking point

The update that the team recently published and in this context also took a position on the cheater problems also reads sheepishly. Among other things, it says that the anti-cheat measures were effective at the start, which is why the team has already concentrated on preparations for Season 1. But that wasn't enough.

“After a series of updates, our systems are now in better condition across all modes; However, we did not achieve our goal when integrating RICOCHET Anti-Cheat at the start of Season 1 – especially for Ranked Play.”

These countermeasures are already underway

Of course, people are aware of the major problems and have already taken countermeasures. For example, account bans have taken place these days, the cleaning of leaderboards has also been increased and the team that manually sifts through clips from the replay tools has also been massively increased.

The team also promises to introduce new, server-side anti-cheat measures in seasons 2 and 3. However, there is no concrete information about this yet. We can only hope that these updates will finally bring about the improvement in ranked play that many fans are hoping for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been available since October 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In addition to multiplayer, there is also a solo campaign and a mode in which you compete cooperatively against ever-increasing waves of zombies.
