Hamburg (dpa) – Singer Max Giesinger (36) considers himself to have an attachment disorder. “There has never been a moment when I thought: “It’s okay now, I’ve arrived now,” the musician told Stern magazine about his relationship experiences so far. Giesinger also attributes these feelings to his childhood. His parents separated at an early age and he grew up with his mother. “I would have liked to have had more basic trust,” says the 36-year-old looking back.
Giesinger, who is one of the most popular German pop musicians, continues that his success has not changed that. «All it takes is one stupid comment and I think: I can't do anything. I'm worthless.” After all, therapy helped him to regulate himself better. “I now have the tools to deal with it,” says Giesinger. “Of course I still fall for the emotions sometimes, but I can get out of it quicker today than before.”
