“Good Omens” star gives update on season 3

A good omen Season 3 is currently in development and the critically acclaimed series has received an exciting update from one of its stars. The fantasy series, based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, launched its first season in 2009 to great success, followed by its second season in 2023.

In a new interview with TV Insider, lead actor Michael Sheen, who plays the angel Aziraphale, has shared an encouraging update. Although filming hasn't started yet, Sheen confirmed that the series is in development and that he's very “excited” to be working again with co-star David Tennant, who plays the demon Crowley. He also hinted that he hopes the end of the series will be a “satisfying experience.”

A good omen The end of season 2 has left fans heartbroken. After Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship finally evolved from platonic to a real romance, that moment was short-lived as Aziraphale chose not to stay with Crowley, leaving him and Earth behind so he could work for Heaven as an archangel with Metatron. However, Sheen hinted that more could happen between the two in the new season.

It is still under developmentbut obviously I am very excited to be working with David again and I love this character,” Sheen shared. “I'm very excited about it.”

One of the extraordinary things about being part of [Good Omens] is the audience, the fans, the fan base of it. You have to take this very seriously because people are really affected,” Sheen added. “And seeing how people reacted to the end of season 2 was extraordinary. So yes, I hope and am sure that season 3 will be a satisfying experience for everyone.”

David Tennant hinted at more romance in season 3 of “Good Omens”

The chemistry between Tennant's Crowley and Sheen's Aziraphale was undeniable and it took two seasons for them to finally admit their feelings to each other. At least until Crowley did. When he suggested to Aziraphale that they leave Heaven and Hell and run away together, Aziraphale refused because he thought they could do more good for Earth in Heaven. He wanted Crowley to join him in Heaven, but that didn't happen. In the finale, Crowley expressed all of his feelings and yet it wasn't enough.

Speaking of eagerly awaited A good omen In Season 3 earlier this year, David Tennant hinted that there could be more romance for the characters. “Well, You don't know how many we have planned for the third seasonTennant said of more possible kisses in Season 3. “I mean, I don't either, to be honest, but, you know.” He also echoed his co-star's words and shared his excitement to work with Sheen. “It gives me so much joy. Especially because I get to hang out with Michael every day and talk nonsense.” He continued, “And they're great scripts, and it's just a brilliant, kind of crazy, crazy world.”

A good omen has a large fan base and is one of the few series to incorporate a fan-favorite couple into the canon. So far, it's unclear if Aziraphale and Crowley will end up together, but since Jon Hamm's Gabriel and Shelly Conn's Beelzebub proved in Season 2 that an angel-demon relationship can work, fans are expecting a happy ending for the popular couple.

A good omen Filming for season 3 is scheduled to begin in January 2025, but there is no official release date for the project yet.
