Illingen – A traffic accident this Saturday afternoon on the L112 shortly before the entrance to Wustweiler caused an extensive rescue operation. Around 4:30 p.m., a car left the road to the right for unknown reasons and overturned. The vehicle ended up lying on its roof.
Witnesses to the accident immediately rushed to help the injured driver. She used a guide post to break a side window of the vehicle and pulled the man out of the wreckage. The driver was handed over to the emergency services, who provided further medical care. Fortunately, the man only suffered minor injuries.
The fire departments from Dirmingen, Eppelborn and Uchtelfangen were also alerted to the scene of the accident. It was initially unclear whether the driver was trapped in the vehicle. The emergency services secure the accident car, illuminate the scene of the accident and support the recovery of the vehicle. They cleaned the road of debris and spilled fuel.
The L112 between Dirmingen and Wustweiler had to be completely closed for the duration of the rescue and recovery work. The operation lasted around two hours. The police are now investigating the exact cause of the accident. Thanks to the quick action of the first responders and the professional work of the rescue workers, something worse was prevented.
