So far, earth spirits have been few and far between in Fortnite. With the latest update, Epic Games has decided to make things a little easier for players.
Aside from an epic victory, there's hardly a better feeling in Fortnite than coming across legendary loot. Unfortunately, the search for it often turned out to be lengthy and tedious. The so-called earth spirits have been providing a remedy for this since season 1 of chapter 6. Once found, the player will be rewarded with golden items for their luck. At the request of the community, this will be the case from now on.
Fortnite update permanently brings more earth spirits into the game
Up to now there were only two of the helpful earth spirits to be found on the map per round. Because these are always placed in random locations, they were considered particularly rare. An understanding to which Epic Games is now responding with the new update. From now on, a total of five earth spirits will be represented in every match. Apart from this adjustment, nothing will change for the moment. Only on December 20th will there be another major update for Fortnite with the Winter Festival.
This change was long overdue for another reason. A Season 1 quest requires players to find and activate one of the earth spirits. While their 22 possible spawn locations are known, the random aspect has made this task extremely difficult. From now on everyone should have a better chance of completing the quest. Even more important: You now have a more realistic chance of getting golden items right at the start of each round. In OG mode, however, this isn't as important as you might think. Because in Fortnite's new mode, up to 90 bots wander around the lobby.
