Serious accident with a mini car in Saarwellingen – Blaulichtreport-Saarland.de

Saarwellingen – On Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2024, an accident involving a four-wheeled light vehicle occurred in Saarwellingen. At around 3:40 p.m., a 16-year-old driver drove along Bahnhofstrasse towards Schlossplatz. In the curve area he lost control of his vehicle for reasons that are still unclear.

The light vehicle left the road to the right and initially hit a trash can and a traffic sign. The vehicle then overturned and collided with a car parked there. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were a total loss.

Fortunately, the young driver was uninjured. Due to the rescue work, there will be minor traffic disruptions on Bahnhofstrasse. It is also thanks to a fortunate circumstance that no pedestrians were walking on the curbs of the busy street at the time of the accident.

After the accident, bad memories were brought back to some people, because not far from yesterday's accident site there was a serious accident in August 2017 in which a mother was killed (we reported about it here).

The Lebach police station has started the investigation and is asking witnesses who can provide information about the accident to contact us on 06881/5050 or by email to [email protected].
