Garmin is rolling out a new update for several different smartwatches. This promises improvements and should also fix several errors. This is a stable software update.

Garmin is rolling out a new software update. This is a stable software update that will therefore not only be rolled out for users participating in the beta program. The update is available for the Garmin Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 models. The update to version 21.20 can be requested very easily by users – directly on the watch. You can search for updates in the options on the smartwatches; installation is then very easy and does not require a connection to a computer.

There are small differences between the change logs of the individual devices; we would like to show the changes that apply to the Forerunner 165 as an example. There is still a small difference between the Forerunner 165 and the Forerunner 165 Music. The Forerunner 165 Music with software version 21.20 now also has its own activity type for meditation. Choosing the right type of activity can be useful for a fairly accurate estimate of the calories burned and also for static purposes – for example to find out what The longest meditation so far has been or how often the person has meditated in the last few months.

Swimmers can now benefit from speed alarms, and the display of critical swimming speed is still supported with the new software version. The changelog includes several bug fixes. For example, sleep tracking should now be carried out correctly even if the set wake-up time is overslept, and spikes in heart rate measurement after the end of an activity should also be a thing of the past. Custom workouts now work as intended.
