Heiligenroth (dpa/lrs) – During a traffic stop, officers from the Highway Police Montabaur caught a suspected mobile home thief. The 67-year-old is said to have stolen a mobile home from a parking lot at the end of November, the police said. A spokesman did not reveal where the crime took place for tactical reasons.
The man got into a traffic stop with the mobile home. When the identification number of the vehicle was checked, it turned out that it was the motorhome that was stolen in November. According to the report, the license plates mounted on them and the vehicle documents that the man handed over to the officers for inspection also turned out to be fake.
The man was initially temporarily arrested, and the following day a judge ordered him into custody. Several criminal proceedings have been initiated against the accused. The original owner of the motorhome, worth around 50,000 euros, received it back.
