Berlin: Shots in front of the shopping center in Alt-Hohenschönhausen

According to the Berlin police situation center, the emergency services were alerted at around 7:15 p.m.

According to initial findings, a previously unknown man is said to have walked from a group of people to another group consisting of several men on the sidewalk on the main street.

There he shot the 19-year-old several times with a handgun, who then fell to the ground.

The gunman then allegedly fired more shots at the teenager. The unknown man then fled towards Große-Leege-Straße.

The victim was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment with serious injuries to his legs. According to the information, there is no danger to life.

The crime scene in front of the shopping center was largely cordoned off.

The suspect is said to have fled after firing the shot in an apartment in an apartment building on Große-Leege-Straße. But the search by a special operations team from the LKA Berlin yielded no results.

The background to the crime is currently unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
