Police officer in viral attack video gets $300,000 bail

ST. MARY, Jamaica – The police officer seen assaulting a woman in a video shared online has been released on $300,000 bail with two sureties.

This was announced when he appeared before St. Mary Parish Court on Thursday, August 22nd.

The conditions for the police officer's release on bail include that he report to the Annotto Bay police station every Saturday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and surrender his travel documents.

In addition, a stop order was issued for all ports.

The police officer is scheduled to return to St. Mary's Parish Court on September 4.

Police sources have confirmed that the officer in the video is from the St. Mary Police.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, August 20. The police officer was at his home in Enfield with his pregnant girlfriend when his ex-girlfriend entered the yard, leading to an argument between the three.

The police officer allegedly attempted to remove the woman from his property, which led to a physical altercation.
