This Korean alcoholic beverage was originally discovered by the ever-reliable Trader Joe's Obsessed. The name conveniently translates to “smooth” and is the first flavored soju to hit the market. The brand makes a total of seven different soju flavors and Trader Joe's officially stocks two of them: peach and grape. Customers can expect to find 12-ounce bottles for $4.99 each, which is comparable to H Mart, where the bottles are sometimes sold in packs of two for $9.

Customers who have tried Soon Hari Soju reported that the drink was “good,” if sometimes too sweet. However, Shannon of Trader Joe's Obsessed describes the authentic Korean soju as “too strong, but sweet,” so judging its similarity really comes down to your personal taste preferences.

For those unfamiliar with soju, the distilled alcoholic beverage is naturally clear and is often referred to as Korea's national drink. Traditionally made from rice, wheat, barley and other grains, soju has a neutral flavor with some sweetness. Most compare soju to vodka, although it has a much lower alcohol content, sometimes between 16 and 25 percent. Traditionally, soju is drunk as a shot, but if it's beautifully bottled and has pretty packaging, who are we to judge you for sipping it straight from the source?
